Kelly Clarkson har slagit ett 50 år gammalt rekord. Idolen har intagit den åtråvärda förstaplatsen på Billboardlistan sedan den startades för över ett halvt sekel sedan. Därmed är hon nu större än Britney Spears.

Clarkson, som var den första Idol-vinnaren i USA, har tagit ett gigantiskt kliv i branschen. Hennes senaste singel "My life would suck without you" har i dag klättrat från 97:e plats till första plats på Billboardlistan. Låten har sålt i 280 000 digitala nedladdningar på endast en vecka.

Idolens Billboardräd innebär att hon har passerat Britney Spears med minsta möjliga marginal. Spears hitlåt "Womanizer" hoppade från plats 96 till topplacering 2008, skriver Billboard.
